Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for an Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci when she was six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics coach. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. In her very first international competition in 1972, she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. In 1975 she was awarded four golds and one silver in her first senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the first female ever to perform the backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began performing as a figure skater along with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. The path she took to success began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. Ice Capades showcased performances of skaters ice skating with actors.
