Katherine Heigl has opened up about being raised in "a the white bubble." She also explains how that realization has affected her parenting of adopted children who are multi-racial. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane" told a reporter that it was not important the color of her skin for her. But after having a conversation with her adopted Korean American older sister, she noticed the differences in the way people took care of her. When I asked Meg about how she was treated at public events, whether regardless of whether we were with our parents, it was different. Meg replied "Oh yes! All the all the time!" It made me realize I had been so naive," Heigl said to her parents. She admitted that she was angry and felt the need to use this anger to assist her children. Heigl along with her husband of 13 years -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl who they adopted in 2012.
